Thanks for your interest in my book, A Gift from the Heart. I offer it free in memory of my heart donor, Roberto Cuebas, and hope that in that sharing others’ stories may be as good and long as my life has been with his gift of life given back in 1994.

What to expect…
Understand that the book is on a CD that you read/view/listen to on your PC (it will not play in your car CD player since its data, not an audio CD). Placed in your computer, the CD will open automatically to an index linked to its PDF file chapters that you view (or print) with the universal and free Adobe reader. With over 100 chapters (1000+ pages of 8-1/2 x 11 single spaced pages with lots of photos and multi-media content) don’t expect this to be a quick read.
Much of the material will be of useful at different points in your transplant experience, so feel free to use the index to jump around to areas of interest. Family and friends will find the insights valuable as they deal with their own caregiver or support roles involving transplant patients. Hopefully you will cry and laugh along with me as you read and relate to the emotional roller coaster ride that any transplant experience can be.
The chapters are a combination of my personal story and shared experiences (no medical advice), inspirational readings, some music, video and audio clips from my TV and radio show appearances, lots of transplant related book and movie reviews I have written and other reference material, and so much more. Enjoy.

To order . . .
To order your free copy of the book, e-mail your name and US postal mailing address (i.e., not your e-mail address) to Yes, its that simple.

And, while it’s “in the snail-mail”…
While waiting for the book that is quickly sent out in the mail to you the same day I receive your request, you can enjoy most of the book (90+ chapters on-line) on the web at

Would love to hear from you….
If you are moved to react as you read, I would love to hear from you, a rare gift that seldom happens, but know I welcome your feedback. My e-mail address, US Postal address and phone numbers are at the end of this page for that purpose. As a self-proclaimed “heart transplant coach” I welcome your questions and feedback, so feel free to use that contact information any time.

You can help…
One last offer. Please feel free to share this resource in any way you wish – copying the CD, passing along that on-line link, or even suggesting to someone to write and ask for their own copy of the book. This truly is my gift from the heart and I am blessed to be both alive and able to offer this gift to you and others who follow in these footsteps of organ donation and transplant experience.
And, of course, help promote organ donation awareness in your own life. I’m assuming you have made your won decision to be an organ donor, registered that decision and most importantly, told you family of that decision. I have!

I would be happy to send it to you but you will have to tell me where to send it…..

  2. I would love a copy of your book. My 14 year old son, Kyle, had his heart transplant in Dec. 2008. Despite being 7 months out we still have so many questions and concerns about Kyle’s future. Any advice or communication with others who have had transplants would be helpful. Thank you so much. God bless you.
