As transplant recipients, we typically would not know who the donor of our new heart was. Several years ago I received a reply from previous thank you letters offered through our local OPO (i.e., organ procurement organization, the Gift of Life Donor Program here in our area). I am so pleased to tell you: “My heart now has a name: it is Roberto!” and here’s his picture:
To express special thanks to my donor family, I offer support for others and their families who may be facing the same challenge through sharing my book, A Gift from the Heart, about that heart transplant experience.
For your own copy of that book in a CD format (for reading on your PC or printing out), write to me at GleasonJim@aol.com with your mailing address and I will get it out promptly (free, given in memory of my heart donor, Roberto)

Jim, I would love to check out your book. Our daughter Macie received her new heart on 10/5/2006 at 4mo of age in STL. Two years later she is doing great!

Hi Jim, I have updated our site this afternoon with yours and my stories and a link to TRIO. Take a look at Testimonial and go to More at the bottom of the page to go to our stories. Enjoy the ride!
