Retirement can be a scary time for anyone who hasn’t developed sustainable interests outside of a life-long working career. I feel very fortunate in having maybe too many such interests, most in various volunteer roles with both church and civic organizations which serve to make one feel very fulfilled in service to others.

One of those interests actually dates back more than almost 60 years as my best friend, Ray, and I were recalling today as we were out enjoying one of our regular “fishing trips” – no, not in the sense you may be thinking, but rather driving around to various pet shops to find tropical fish for our home tanks at a reasonable price and in good health. We do that about once a month and also enjoy a great lunch in the middle of each trip. Ray and I go back to the early 50’s were we met and became lifelong buddies back in Metuchen, NJ. Even then we shared the fresh water tropical fish hobby that is still fun even today.

The following YouTube videos will show you some of both my three fish tanks (the “office 20 gal hex tank, the living room “corner 55gal and 55gal bow tanks.as well as Ray’s “fish room” with 20+ tanks there.

Enjoy:
the 55 gal “bow” tank in the living room (the earlier one with the new fish was the “corner tank” in the living room…) – both 55gal tanks:

and the office octagonal tank

and now for Ray’s “fish room”

..relax to the sounds of water as you enjoy some of several videos of the “corner tank” in our living room with the new fish Ray and I “caught” today…
